Fist we started with our questions of the day which was how do you define the word trust? who/what do you trust? and on a scale from 1-10, how important is trust in a relationship and why? When we circled up to answer these questions most of us said its having someone who you can go to and be vulnerable with. As we continued to answer the questions they said trust is one of the important aspect of a relationship and without it a relationship won't work.
The next activity was to identify what builds trust and what breaks trust. When we presented our posters (above) we said that to build trust is to have communication, respect, honesty, and to be supportive. To break trust is to lie, cheat, and being unreliable. The discussions we had after our presentations were very helpful to everyone because we all learned something from each other and how we all deal with these situations that we have had, which leads to the next activity.
In the last activity it really pressured them to open up with there class mates. The activity was to anonymously write about a relationship were they have lost trust and a different class mate would read it out loud. This part of the lesson was extremely difficult emotionally. The stories that they had in them for a very long time and finally had the chance to let it out and express there emotions. At the end i think that having these kinds of talks really brings us together as a class and they really open your eyes to how similar we all are, we all bring dark stories to this room but we find unity and love within each other.
Also castro went to wrestling senior night and swimming senior night where she walked with francis to the podium to present her for her senior night awards! How Cute!
Until next time,
